Brunswick Hospital CenterAmityville, NY. Demolition of a 100' tall Radial Brick Chimney The Facilities Manager at Brunswick General Hospital was faced with a dilemma. A redundant boiler chimney was in an unsafe and potentially hazardous condition, however, cost estimates for the demolition exceeded the hospitals budget. Gibraltar Chimney International offered several cost effective alternates that enabled the hospital to eliminate the hazard without exceeding their operating budget projections. Safety measures were implemented and the structure was demolished in a piecemeal fashion, without incident to adjacent structures.
