Inspection and Maintenance Services
Gibraltar Chimney has performed inspections and maintenance repairs at several AES facilities, including
the 612'-6" tall reinforced concrete chimney serving the 625 MW coal fired boiler at the AES Somerset -
Kintigh Generating Station.
The plant is equipped with a wet scrubber, FGD System which creates many challenges relative to chimney maintenance. It also
requires that inspection personnel have a comprehensive understanding of the design criteria and unique
problems associated with chimneys exposed to the severe operating conditions imposed by wet scrubbers.
